AC Milan boss Ruben Amorim has set his intentions on winning the Europa League ahead of the club's first game against Benfica on Wednesday.
Milan did not feature in any European competitions last season and are getting ready for their first bit of European football since being knocked out of the Champions League by Feyenoord in the 2024-25 season.
Amorim's side will welcome Benfica to San Siro on Wednesday night, a club that he used to play for.
Amorim came close to winning the Europa League with Manchester United in the 2024-25 season before losing out in the final to Tottenham, and he has set his sights on finally picking up the trophy with Milan instead.
He told a news conference: "We are talking about a competition and the objective is obviously to win.
"Our objective is to go all the way, there are many competitive teams. The difference comes from being able to rely on a squad worthy of the name. If the motivation is there, I think you can win any competition and any match," Amorim said.
"At big clubs, and AC Milan are a huge club, there is no minimum objective. Whatever the result, if you do not win, you will be here criticising the team, saying it is too little. That is my experience."
Winger Omari Hutchinson joined Milan on loan from Nottingham Forest this season, and he went to the semifinals of this competition last season.

Amorim says the 22-year-old is fit to feature.
He added: "He is ready to play. He can start. We will see tomorrow, I do not want to reveal the starting XI because Marco [Silva, Benfica manager] is definitely watching the press conference and he is very intelligent.
