Philippe Coutinho is set to play for Brazilian side Santos for the remainder of the year.
The former Liverpool and Barcelona midfielder had been without a club since leaving Vasco da Gama in February, citing mental exhaustion.
Although Santos has yet to make the signing official, team captain Neymar has already welcomed Coutinho to the club.
In a video posted on social media, Neymar is seen hugging Coutinho as both players watched Santos' 2-1 league win against Cruzeiro on Saturday at Vila Belmiro.
Neymar, who had played with Coutinho in Brazil's national team, accompanied the video with a message: "Brother, we are so happy you're here. Our squad and our fan will embrace you so you can be happy. Welcome to Santos."
Santos coach Cuca, meanwhile, said that Coutinho, 34, will be a great addition to his team.
"He has already taken part in the video meeting I hold with the squad, where we review plays from the last match and training sessions," Cuca said.
"He's in great shape, cheerful, and highly motivated. We'll be able to benefit from his presence, and help him as well. He's a great player and a valuable asset to the sport."
