Inter Miami forward Mateo Silvetti is out for the season after undergoing surgery for dislocating his left shoulder.
Silvetti initally suffered the dislocation during the Leagues Cup match against Atlético San Luis on Aug. 5.
The forward was able to make a brief return to the field vs. Atlanta United FC on Sept. 5, playing 10 minutes in that 2-2 draw before being substituted out due to pain.
"Forward Mateo Silvetti has successfully undergone surgery on his left shoulder to address the dislocation he sustained during the Club's MLS match against Atlanta United. The player will now begin the corresponding recovery process, focused on the upcoming season," Inter Miami confirmed in a news release.
Silvetti played an integral role in the team's 2025 MLS Cup campaign, recording two goals and three assists in six games to propel Inter Miami to the trophy.
The forward managed three goals and four assists in 14 MLS games this season, before suffering the season-ending injury.
Inter Miami has been plagued by injuries through the 2026 campaign, with six players unavailable in the team's last match against the Chicago Fire FC.
Tadeo Allende is also out for the remainder of the campaign after undergoing an arthroscopy on his right knee to address discomfort.
He has been attending Inter Miami matches in crutches since the procedure.
Santiago Morales, Sergio Reguilón, Micael and Gonzalo Luján were also sidelined for the game against the Fire on Sept. 9.
Inter Miami currently sits in second place on the Eastern Conference table with 44 points in 24 games.
They meet conference leaders Nashville SC on Saturday in a face off for the Supporters' Shield.
