Brazilian club Vasco da Gama are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur to sign striker Richarlison in this transfer window.
Vasco's director of football, Admar Lopes, expressed confidence in the negotiations, even if the Brazilian transfer window closes on Sept. 11.
"At the moment, we are in talks with the English club [Tottenham] and there is a possibility of signing Richarlison during this transfer window," Lopes told reporters on Thursday. "We believe that Richarlison would come in to raise Vasco's attacking game to a whole new level. We are exploring all possibilities."
When asked whether Richarlison's arrival would be directly linked to a possible termination of the Brazil international's contract with Spurs, Admar said: "Legally speaking, if there is a termination of contract between the player and Tottenham, it has nothing to do with Vasco. Legally, we are not involved. You'll have to ask the player and his representatives."
At Tottenham since the summer of 2022, Richarlison, 29, has entered the final year of his contract.
He last featured for the north London club on Aug. 22 in a 3-0 defeat at Brentford in their Premier League opener.

Since then he has not been selected by manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Richarlison was close to a return to former club Everton at the end of the Premier League window but no terms were agreed. He was also a target of Trabzonspor before the Turkish window closed.
