Arsenal made a statement with a 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Community Shield in Cardiff.
The Gunners took the lead after just 24 seconds through Riccardo Calafiori and they then scored further goals either side of half time via Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard.

City began life without Pep Guardiola, with former Chelsea and Leicester manager Enzo Maresca taking his place.
And Maresca took on fellow former City assistant manager Mikel Arteta, with the pair combining under Guardiola at the Etihad.
City were in the Community Shield by virtue of winning the FA Cup, holding off Maresca's former side Chelsea to win 1-0 courtesy of a goal from January signing Antoine Semenyo.
The Gunners meanwhile were there having won their first Premier League title in 22 years.
Arteta welcomed new signing Bruno Guimarães straight into the midfield, alongside Myles Lewis-Skelly who was linked with a move away in the week.
He also named Christos Tzolis, who joined Arsenal from Club Brugge this summer, on the left, while England quartet Noni Madueke, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka were all welcomed back into the squad after the World Cup.
Maresca also started a new signing in the form of Elliot Anderson, who paired with Mateo Kovacic in the midfield.
Rodri was not named in the squad amid rumours of an imminent move to Barcelona this summer.
Erling Haaland was named up front after a hugely successful World Cup campaign for Norway, in which he scored seven goals.
