Inter Milan are progressing talks with Tottenham over a deal to sign Djed Spence, sources have told ESPN.
Sources suggest no deal has been agreed as yet but negotiations are continuing over a transfer which could be worth in the region of €30 million ($34.6 million/ £25.6 million.)
Tottenham are open to selling the contract of the 26-year-old as sources have told ESPN that head coach Roberto De Zerbi does not view Spence as an essential part of his plans for the upcoming campaign.
Spurs signed Spence from Middlesbrough in July 2022 in a £19m ($25.6m) deal which included various add-ons related to international performances.
Spence made his England debut in September 2025 -- an achievement which sources suggest triggered a £1m ($1.3m) payment to Middlesbrough -- before he became a surprise inclusion in Thomas Tuchel's squad for the World Cup earlier this summer.
Although the full-back impressed during the tournament, sources say Spurs are keen to cash in after his value increased as a result. Spence has enjoyed an extended break after England's run to a third-place finish in the United States.
While sources suggest there has been no major breakdown in relations with De Zerbi, Spence's path to regular first-team football at Spurs appears complicated.

Last month, De Zerbi described Pedro Porro as the "best in the world" at right-back.
Spurs have also signed Andy Robertson on a free-transfer and the former Liverpool defender is expected to play a prominent role at left-back in competition with Destiny Udogie, should the latter prove his fitness after a troubled preseason.
