Toronto FC rallies to earn draw with NY Red Bulls


TORONTO -- Jozy Altidore scored his second goal of the game in the 86th minute and Toronto FC drew wotj the New York Red Bulls 3-3 on Sunday to move to the brink of securing a playoff spot.

Altidore took Michael Bradley's pass and beat a defender, turning at the edge of the penalty area to fire the ball home. Altidore also scored on a free kick in the 68th minute to pull Toronto within one. He has eight goals in his last nine games.

Toronto has seven wins in its last 10 games and now have a two-point lead in the Eastern Conference.

The Red Bulls extended their club-record unbeaten streak in league play to 12 games, with five wins and seven draws.

Bradley Wright-Phillips, scoring in his sixth straight game, upped his season goals total to 20 with a pair for New York. The Red Bulls also got an own goal from Toronto's Steven Beitashour.

Bradley also scored for Toronto, which fell behind 2-0 after 31 minutes.
