Delhi Dynamos picked up their first win of the Indian Super League season against Chennaiyin FC thanks to a penalty from Chicao inside the opening 10 minutes.
Gustavo dos Santos created a chance for Delhi captain Hans Mulder and his shot hit the arm of a Chennaiyin defender, allowing Chicao to step up and coolly slot home.
Dos Santos had a chance to make it 2-0 and, before the break, Delhi had to rely on John Arne Riise to block Stiven Mendoza's effort in order to maintain their lead.
Mendoza rattled the post and Bruno Pelissari had a shot which was blocked in the final minutes but Roberto Carlos' men held on for their first win and left Chennaiyin propping up the table.
