FC Pune City v NorthEast
Pune City defeat NorthEast United as own goal continues perfect start
Pune City secured their second win from two Indian Super League games to stay top of the table thanks to a narrow victory over NorthEast United.
Pune, managed by former England captain David Platt, made the crucial breakthrough when Zohmingliana Ralte scored an own goal with just over 15 minutes remaining.
Adrian Mutu came close to opening the scoring for them shortly before the break when he ended a mazy run with a shot that was too close to the goalkeeper.
But NorthEast's Nicolas Velez caused them plenty of problems and could have given his side a first-half lead when he failed to find the corner with a low attempt when clean through.
The result means Platt's team are two points clear of second-placed FC Goa.
