Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 to win Pan Am Games gold medal
Brian Lozano scored in the 11th minute as Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 to win the gold medal in football at the Pan American Games.
Mexico challenged Uruguay on numerous occasions in the final 20 minutes of the match, but goalkeeper Guillermo De Amores was equal to the task in earning a clean sheet.
Uruguay were only in the finals thanks to a last-gasp rally to beat Brazil in the semifinals.
The gold medal was the first for Uruguay at this year's Pan Am Games. The country collected five medals in all.
