Stirling v Forfar
Malin sinks 10-man Stirling
Gavin Malin's first-half goal proved enough to sink bottom club Stirling as Forfar moved to within a point of League One leaders Stranraer. The visitors were made to work against a team that has managed only two wins all season but made the breakthrough in the 38th minute when Gavin Swankie pulled the ball back from the byline and Malin was left with a simple tap-in.Stirling's hopes suffered a further setback just two minutes into the second half when Chris Smith denied Martyn Fotheringham a goalscoring opportunity and was sent off.The 10 men prevented the floodgates opening and Forfar failed to find the second goal which would have eased their nerves. They were almost punished when Stirling threatened to snatch an equaliser in injury time but Angus Beith's shot from outside the area was saved by Rab Douglas.
