Orlando City SC secure first-ever MLS win vs. Houston Dynamo

HOUSTON -- Pedro Ribeiro forced the action that led to Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric's own goal in the 74th minute as expansion Orlando City won 1-0 on Friday night for its first MLS victory.

Ribeiro raced around Deric after he stuffed the keeper's attempt to clear with a long ball. Deric wrapped his arm around Ribeiro's head to prevent the open net goal and then tackled Ribeiro into the net with the ball after it was too late.

Kaka was twice denied by Houston Dynamo keeper Tyler Deric, but Orlando City SC still managed to win the game after an own goal by Deric.

Deric's blunder overshadowed a couple of crucial saves against Orlando City's Kaka in the 41st and 65th minutes.

Donovan Ricketts earned the shutout for Orlando City (1-0-1) although the Dynamo (1-1-0) failed to put a shot on frame.

It was the only league meeting between the teams this season.
