Bayern Munich salvage point at Augbsurg after conceding fastest ever Bundesliga goal

Bayern Munich salvaged a 2-2 draw against Augsburg after a blunder from Manuel Neuer led to them conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history.

Returning after the extended international break, Bayern trailed inside nine seconds after veteran keeper Neuer miscontrolled a pass straight from the kick-off, hit the ball against Robin Fellhauer while trying to make up for his error, and the Augsburg man ran away to score.

The previous record of nine seconds was jointly held by Hoffenheim's Kevin Volland and Karim Bellarabi for Bayer Leverkusen.

Ismael Saibari equalised for Vincent Kompany's side early in the second half but they went behind again to a goal from Rodrigo Ribeiro before Nathaniel Brown drew them level once more.

The result means Bayern stay two points behind table toppers Borussia Dortmund, who also draw 2-2 with Werder Bremen on Friday.

After Neuer's horror moment, Bayern set about trying to repair the damage but Harry Kane was off target with three efforts while Michael Olise saw his low shot saved by Finn Dahmen.

The visitors struggled to create clear-cut chances, though, and Saibari shot wide of the far post, while they ended the half with Kane clipping the top of the crossbar.

Bayern thought they had equalised six minutes after the break in spectacular fashion when Luis Díaz acrobatically sent Saibari's cross into the net but their celebrations were cut short when it was ruled out for offside.

They did not have to wait long, however, drawing level four minutes later after Joshua Kimmich found Kane with a lofted pass and the England captain played in Saibari.

But Bayern's push for victory then suffered another setback as Augsburg, the only team to beat the champions in the league last season, went ahead again, with Neuer under scrutiny once more.

Calvin Brackelmann drove forward down the left and sent in a shot that Neuer could only push out into the middle of the box, where Ribeiro was waiting.

Bayern had another effort disallowed in the 73rd minute, with the flag going up straight away after Serge Gnabry had converted Kane's pull-back, while the England striker was then denied by a good save from Dahmen.

While he could not add to his goal tally, Kane provided another assist 10 minutes from time, squaring for Brown to score his first goal for the club.

Gnabry hit the post as Bayern pushed for a winner, while Olise and Tom Bischof both had efforts saved.
