Fulham v Newcastle

The full-time whistle sounds at Craven Cottage as Fulham and Newcastle United are forced to settle for a 1-1 draw! Bobb saw his attempt from the right of the box parried past a post by Hornicek before Garcia headed over from the resulting corner. Leno made two brilliant saves at the other end to deny Barnes, first at the near post before using his head to prevent the former Leicester City forward from finding the back of the net. Burn thought he had given Newcastle the lead, but his goal was disallowed after Wissa was adjudged to have pulled Castagne’s shirt. Barnes fired wide after the half-time break before Berge dragged a finish inches past the left-hand post. Wissa was unfortunate to hit the side-netting from a tight angle as Newcastle searched for an opener. The Magpies eventually went ahead in the 80th minute with Murphy intercepting Berge’s loose pass before curling an exquisite finish into the top-left corner. However, the lead only lasted three minutes with Muniz converting Palacios’ left-wing centre past the helpless Hornicek. In a further display of brilliant goalkeeping, Leno kept out Hall’s effort before Hornicek pushed Sessegnon’s thunderbolt past the upright at the other end. The hosts created 11 shots with five on target, reflected by an xG of 0.62, whereas the visitors registered nine shots with five on target, highlighted by an xG of 0.91. That concludes our live commentary of this contest. We hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading and take care!

WHAT A STUNNING STOP!!!! Iwobi's free-kick is headed away by Miley, but it falls to Sessegnon, who hits a sweet first-time strike. It's heading for the top-right corner, but Hornicek does brilliantly to push it past the upright!!
