England held on at the death with a dramatic 31-24 win over Argentina in a topsy turvy clash at the Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades.
In a match which had as many as seven yellow cards, England had a comfortable 19-3 halftime lead after a brace from Ben Earl and a try from Tommy Freeman.
But Argentina came back in the second half to trail by two points, before England pulled away again through Marcus Smith and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso.

England rose to third place in the Northern Hemisphere standings for the Nations Championship, with a bonus point win.
Conversely, Argentina remained fourth in the Southern Hemisphere standings.
The Pumas suffered a 47-38 defeat to Scotland in their opening match, before beating Wales 35-21 last week.
The two sides met twice last summer, with England winning both matches, as well as winning 27-23 at Twickenham in November.
