Glasgow Warriors wing Tommy Seymour scored two tries to help his side return from a potentially tricky match away to Benetton Treviso with a 24-13 win.

Seymour scored twice after half-time as his team wrested control of the match back from the Italians. Ruaridh Jackson added three penalties, while Scott Wight converted the first try and landed a penalty of his own.

Treviso scored the opening try through Fijian-born Italy international Manoa Vosawai, which fly-half Kristopher Burton converted. He also scored a penalty, as did his half-back partner Tobias Botes.

Heavy rain made for a challenging playing surface to which Glasgow were the quickest to adapt, with a pair of early penalties from Jackson handing them a welcome lead.

From a lineout, though, Treviso's Vosawai powered across the line to narrow the gap, and Burton booted the extras to put the hosts ahead. Burton added a penalty to set back Glasgow's cause even further, but the second-half recovery salvaged the night for the Warriors.

Jackson slashed the lead to one point when he kicked a 44th-minute penalty, and Wight added another three points 13 minutes later.

A twist came when Glasgow's replacement second-row forward Tim Swinson was sin-binned, and when Italian pressure told, Botes found the target with another penalty. The Italians were ahead, but not for long.

Seymour seized on a loose ball to collect and cross, with Wight's extras putting Glasgow six points in front. Wight could not convert the next try, but it was his work that created the five-pointer, a cross-kick finding Seymour to steam over and put the match out of the Italians' reach.
