It's the final week of the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League season, and Saturday also marks the inaugural WLL championship as the Charm and Palms face off for the ultimate prize.
The host Waterdogs will play both Saturday and Sunday, with playoff positioning yet to be determined in both the East and West.

New York Atlas (3-8) vs. Philadelphia Waterdogs (7-3)

Philly has clinched a playoff berth, and will be the No. 1 seed in the East (and get a first-round bye) with a win over New York OR a win over Maryland.
Heading into the weekend, CJ Kirst has 30 goals, which is tied for the single-season record (Marcus Holman, 2023). Of note, Kirst owns the career NCAA goals record along with a share of the single-season record.
Maryland Charm vs. California Palms
Saturday, 5 p.m. ET
This matchup is a rematch of a regular-season game that went to overtime, with the Charm winning 18-17. Here are the top players to watch in the championship game.
Charm
Rookie midfielder Brigid Duffy is contributing in myriad ways to Maryland's success. She has as many goals as Izzy Scane, as many assists as Emma LoPinto, more ground balls than Ally Kennedy and as many caused turnovers as Kayla Wood.
The Charm have relied on two goalies this year, with veteran Caylee Waters and rookie Jenika Cuocco splitting time in a unique timeshare.
Palms
California's midfield group has been nicknamed "The Horses," and have established themselves as one of the best position groups in the WLL.
One of the "Horses" -- Ally Mastroianni -- might be better categorized as a marine predator. After a devastating hamstring injury in college, doctors wrapped her sciatic nerve in shark collagen to help in the healing process.

Maryland has clinched a playoff spot, and will take on Boston in the quarterfinals.
Rookie Joey Spallina is putting together quite a debut campaign. His 34 points through 11 games are four shy of the PLL single-season rookie record (38 by Brendan Nichtern in 2022) and eight shy of the Whipsnakes' single-season record (42 by Matt Rambo in 2019).

Among many other standouts for the Dogs in 2026, Zach Currier has emerged as a legit SSDM of the Year candidate, having won the Midfielder of the Year award back in 2021. Currier leads all SSDM in ground balls (55) and points (12) heading into his final two games of the season.
Denver Outlaws (6-5) vs. California Redwoods (5-6)

Denver has clinched a playoff spot. In order to clinch the No. 1 seed, the Outlaws will need to win this game by 29 or more points.
Brennan O'Neill is one of the PLL's most feared shooters, but his playmaking has leveled up in 2026; he has 18 assists through 11 games, which is more than his first two seasons combined (17).
Redwoods
The Redwoods clinch a postseason spot with either a win in this game or a loss by 11 points or fewer.
Don't blink if the Redwoods win the faceoff. California's 32-second offense has been more efficient (converting at 25.9%) than its 52-second version (25.5%), thanks to the offensive wizardry of Sam English and Andrew McAdorey who can transition the ball into offensive attacks quickly.
