Texans RB Montgomery, S Pitre out for London affair vs. Jaguars

HOUSTON -- The Texans will travel to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars without at least a pair of starters.

Houston (1-4) ruled running back David Montgomery (groin) and safety Jalen Pitre (shoulder) out for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars (4-1) at Wembley Stadium.

Montgomery and Pitre, who suffered their respective injuries during last week's 26-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans, have started every game this season for the Texans.

Second-year running back Woody Marks is expected to carry the load in Montgomery's absence, while rookie safety Kamari Ramsey is likely to step in for Pitre.

Montgomery has 138 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground this season. He has also hauled in seven receptions for 67 yards and a score. All three touchdowns came against the Buffalo Bills in the season opener.

Montgomery is averaging a career-low 2.7 yards per carry this season, while Marks is averaging 3.5 yards per tote and has 149 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Another player who won't make the trip to London -- wide receiver Tank Dell.

The Texans opened Dell's practice window on Oct. 7 after he started the season on injured reserve as he continues to work his way back from a serious knee injury he suffered in December 2024, an injury that also caused him to miss the entire 2025 campaign.

Dell has practiced over the past two weeks without any setbacks. That's positive news after Houston placed him on injured reserve with a designation to return when the team cut down its roster before the regular-season opener.

Dell, a third-round pick by the Texans in the 2023 NFL draft, had 51 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns before tearing multiple ligaments and dislocating a kneecap to end his 2024 season.
