Clint Boling agrees to 5-year deal

Guard Clint Boling and the Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to a five-year, $26 million deal, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Boling, 25, has been a key part of the Bengals' offense since the team's 2011 reboot following the 4-12 showing in 2010. A fourth-round pick in 2011, he was brought to Cincinnati in the same draft class as Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Green and quarterback Andy Dalton.

Boling tore his ACL in a December 2013 game at San Diego, but he recovered enough to participate in all but one of the Bengals' offensive snaps in 2014.

A versatile lineman, he was moved from left guard briefly late in the season to help address a need at right tackle. He spent parts of three games there before free-agent signee Eric Winston took over, allowing him to move back to guard.

Boling was viewed by many around the league as one of the top under-the-radar free agents.

The day after the Bengals' season ended, he expressed an interest in returning to Cincinnati because he felt partially responsible for helping the organization reach the postseason every year of his career.

News of Boling's re-signing was earlier reported by NFL Network.
