Craine with 3 TD runs, leads Chattanooga over Furman 31-3
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Derrick Craine matched a career-high with three rushing touchdowns and Chattanooga beat Furman 31-3 on Saturday.
Craine ran for 138 yards on 21 carries to lead the Mocs (4-1, 2-0 Southern Conference) to their fourth-straight victory.
Craine scored twice from the 4-yard line, and Lucas Webb scored on 35-yard interception return to give Chattanooga a 21-3 halftime lead.
Furman (3-3, 1-1) had a 14-play, 72-yard drive stall when Sema'je Kendall intercepted Paladin quarterback Reese Hannon midway through the fourth quarter. The Mocs sealed it when Craine added another 4-yard score to cap a 94-yard drive that took up nearly eight minutes.
Jacob Huesman was 9 of 15 for 104 yards passing and ran for 79 yards. Henrique Ribeiro kicked a 36-field goal in the third quarter for the Mocs.
Jon Croft Hollingsworth kicked a 25-yard field goal on the opening drive for the Paladins.
