Filmore hits 7-pointers in SE Louisiana's 86-68 victory
SAN ANTONIO -- Joshua Filmore made seven 3-pointers for his 21 points and Southeastern Louisiana defeated Incarnate Word 86-68 on Wednesday night.
It was the second time this season Filmore went 7 of 11 from the arc, matching his Jan. 17 effort against Houston Baptist.
The Lions (15-10, 9-3) are tied for second place in the Southland Conference with Sam Houston State and New Orleans, a half-game back of Nicholls (9-2).
Marlain Veal added 17 points and 12 rebounds, Jordan Capps 15 points and Moses Greenwood 14 points for the Lions, who shot 50 percent and made 13 of 29 3-pointers.
Charles Brown III scored a career-high 26 points and Shawn Johnson 23 for the Cardinals (5-16, 0-11), who have lost 13 straight.
Filmore hit a 3-pointer for a 40-37 lead at halftime then opened the second half with two more 3-pointers. The Lions pulled away to their largest lead of 23 with 5:46 to go.
