Fantasy Men's Basketball
News: 5 hours agoBall (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason game against the Heat.
Spin: Ball will get a breather Saturday, with Bones Hyland and Terrence Shannon get the start in the backcourt. Ball's next chance to take the floor is Monday against the Knicks, though his playing time will likely be limited until the Timberwolves' regular-season opener against the Heat on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: After playing his first six seasons with the Hornets, Ball was traded this offseason to the Timberwolves. Ball, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft will be joining Anthony Edwards, the No. 1 overall pick in the same draft, to form one of the most explosive backcourts in the NBA. Ball is a brilliant, creative offensive talent whose passes and long-range shot attempts often look haphazard even as they prove effective. The biggest question mark is availability; last season was one of only two in Ball's career in which he was able to play more than 51 games.
