Spin: Markkanen, who's set to be a primary scoring option for Utah this year, overcame a neck injury to suit up for this exhibition. Fantasy managers should feel more comfortable drafting the star forward at his ADP this fall now that he's healthy.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Markkanen set new career marks in scoring (26.7 PPG), assists (2.1 APG) and steals (1.0 SPG) last season but also played in a career-low 42 games. Markkanen is the veteran centerpiece for a Jazz team suddenly replete with young talent. Surrounded by Keyonte George and two high-upside wings in Ace Bailey and rookie Darryn Peterson, Markkanen will continue as the primary option for the Jazz but may have more room to operate against defenses that have to focus more on his young teammates.
