Kobe Johnson scored 17 points and the Atlanta Hawks used a dominant fourth quarter to rally past the Brooklyn Nets for an 83-76 victory in the NBA summer league on Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Hawks trailed for most of the game and faced a deficit as large as 13 points. Atlanta entered the final period down 60-57 before outscoring Brooklyn 26-16 to win. A 12-0 run midway through the fourth quarter gave the Hawks the lead for good.
Atlanta first-round pick (No. 23) Zuby Ejiofor finished with 13 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals. No. 8 pick Kingston Flemings contributed nine points, seven rebounds and five assists; and Zeke Mayo added 11 points and three steals off the bench. Second-rounder Henri Veesaar (No. 52) had six points and two blocks.
For the Nets, Chaney Johnson had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Danny Wolf matched him with 20 points and added five rebounds, and Ben Saraf chipped in 15 points and five assists. Second-round pick Tyler Bilodeau (No. 43) contributed five points and four rebounds.
Brooklyn struggled mightily from 3-point range, shooting just 2-for-24 (8.3%), which hampered its ability to hold off Atlanta's late charge.
