Prairie View takes out Jarvis Christian 84-69 behind Cook
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Daquan Cook scored 17 points, Zachary Hamilton had 14 and Ja'Donta Blakley and L.J. Westbrook each scored 11 points as Prairie View A&M beat NAIA Jarvis Christian 84-69 on Tuesday night.
Adamassu Williams had 11 rebounds and 10 points for Prairie View A&M (2-3).
The Panthers raced to an 18-4 lead before Jarvis Christian went on 17-7 run to reduce its deficit to 25-21 with 4:51 left on Chasen King's layup. JD Wallace later made a layup to stretch the Panthers lead back to 10 with just a little more than two minutes to play before halftime.
Prairie View led 39-27 at the break. A Williams layup made the score 49-39 with 15:11 to go and Prairie View A&M led by double digits the rest of the way.
Deon Fisher led Jarvis Christian with 14 points and King and Isaiah Lopez each added 13.
