VMI rolls to 111-95 victory over The Citadel
LEXINGTON, Va. -- QJ Peterson scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and VMI took a 111-95 win over The Citadel on Saturday.
Julian Eleby added 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Keydets (9-19, 4-13), who split the season series after losing 78-75 at The Citadel on Jan. 30. Adrian Rich scored 14 points with six assists and Phillip Anglade had 12 points. The 111 points were the most for VMI this season and second time they hit the century mark. The Keydets shot 56 percent, making 11 of 27 from the arc.
Brian White scored 23 points and had seven rebounds and Derrick Henry scored 15 points for the Bulldogs (10-21, 3-15), who have lost nine straight. Warren Sledge scored 12 points. The Citadel outrebounded VMI 44-26 but gave up 19 points off turnovers.
VMI took a double-digit lead for good less than a minute into the second half.
