Brooks leads Cal State Fullerton over San Diego 67-55

FULLERTON, Calif. -- Malcolm Brooks scored 16 points and Cal State Fullerton beat San Diego 67-55 on Saturday night.

Tre Coggins had 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting with four steals for Cal State Fullerton (2-1). Khalil Ahmad had 11 points and Lionheart Leslie added 10 for the Titans.

Marcus Harris scored 14 points and Jito Kok had 12 to lead San Diego (0-3).

Coggins scored four points to spark an 11-2 run to stretch the Titan's lead to 47-36 midway through the second half. The Toreros then pulled to nine points twice, the last when Harris made a 3-pointer to make it 55-46 with four minutes left. Brooks answered with a 3-pointer, Leslie made a layup, and Ahmad another 3-pointer and the Titans led 63-46 with two minutes left.

It's the first game between the schools since 2010. The Titans lead the series 19-10.
