Georgia State rallies, beats Louisiana-Lafayette 72-69
LAFAYETTE, La. -- Kevin Ware had 16 points, Isaiah Williams added 15 and Georgia State rallied late on Thursday night to get past Louisiana-Lafayette 72-69.
The Panthers (16-12, 9-10 Sun Belt Conference) trailed by six with 5:26 to go and scored the next 10 to take the lead for good at 62-58 on Williams' layup with 2:22 left.
Williams made it 67-63 on a layup with 52 seconds left and Ware added a pair of free throws to make it a six-point lead 18 seconds later.
Kasey Shepherd and Steven Wronkoski had 3-pointers in the final 30 seconds for the Ragin' Cajuns (15-13, 11-8). But Georgia State held them off by making 3 of 6 from the foul line.
Markus Crider had 14 points and Jeremy Hollowell added 10 for the Panthers.
Bryce Washington led the Cajuns with 21 points. Jay Wright scored 16, Shawn Long added 11 and Wronkoski 10.
