Miami (Ohio) defeats Central Michigan 86-80
OXFORD, Ohio -- Will Felder scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Miami (Ohio) defeated Central Michigan 86-80 on Wednesday night.
It was the second victory for the Redhawks (7-9, 3-2 Mid-American) over the Chippewas (7-10, 0-5) this season. Miami won at CMU 77-70 on Jan. 8.
Will Sullivan added 20 points and Bill Edwards 13 for Miami, which led 32-29 at the half. The Redhawks shot 59.3 percent from the field and hit half of their 14 3-point attempts.
The Redhawks took the lead for good on Geovonie McKnight's 3-pointer that broke a 50-all tie at 12:17 in the second half. Miami went up by 12 with 1:41 remaining. A 3-pointer by Blake Hibbits got the Chippewas within four with 39 seconds left, but they couldn't overcome five free throws down the stretch by the Redhawks.
Chris Fowler led four Chippewas in double figures with 19 points.
