Milwaukee holds off UMKC with free throws, 84-79
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jordan Aaron was 5 of 6 from the free throw line in the final minute as Milwaukee held off Missouri-Kansas City Saturday, 84-79.
Aaron finished with a game-high 33 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field, including 7 of 10 from 3-point range. Kyle Kelm and Matt Tiby added 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Milwaukee. Tiby was 8 for 8 from the line.
The Panthers shot a blistering 65 percent (26 of 40) in the game.
Martez Harrison's layup with 1:26 left cut the Milwaukee lead to 76-75. Tiby converted a pair of free throws with 1:04 left, starting a string of seven straight free throws for the Panthers (7-2). By the time Aaron missed on his sixth attempt, it was 83-79, and the game was decided.
Harrison finished with 28 points for the Kangaroos (1-5). Trinity Hall contributed 19 points and Nelson Kirksey added 17.
