MONROE, La. (AP) -- Tony Hooper scored 27 points to spark Louisiana-Monroe's 105-75 win over visiting Alcorn State on Tuesday.
Hooper, a junior guard, got all but two of his points in the first half to help Louisiana-Monroe overcome a slow start and build a 59-38 advantage at the half.
Jonas Brown added 20 for the Warhawks (2-4), Jordan Payne had 18 and Mitchell Hampton had 14.
The Warhawks trailed Alcorn (0-4) in the game's opening minutes, but Hooper heated up, hitting his firt 3-pointer to tie the score at 5-5. He then got a crowd-pleasing dunk on a fast break.
