Maine 85, St. Francis, NY 82

ORONO, Maine (AP) -- Mark Socoby scored the tying basket with less than a second to play in regulation, then added four points in overtime as Maine beat St. Francis of New York 85-82 on Saturday night.

Socoby finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds while Brian Andre led the Black Bears with 28 points.

St. Francis (1-2) pulled ahead by six, 81-75, with 2:27 left in overtime, but scored just one more point.

Maine's Junior Bernal scored from the right block 11 seconds later and then found Jason Hight for a basket on a fast break to pull the Black Bears (2-2) within two points.

After St. Francis made a free throw with 1:35 left, Andre hit two free throws to make it a one-point game.

Socoby finished off the scoring with a one-handed shot from the low post with 16 seconds left and and two free throws with 2.5 seconds to play.

Jamaal Womack led the Terriers with 30 points while Robert Hines had 29 points.

The Terriers led by as many as 11 points, 65-54, with 6:29 left in regulation.
