Lafayette beats Army 52-47 in Patriot League opener, snaps 9-game skid
EASTON, Pa. -- — Mark Butler's 13 points helped Lafayette defeat Army 52-47 in a Patriot League opener on Wednesday night.
Butler shot 6 of 10 from the field for the Leopards (2-12). Justin Vander Baan scored 11 points while shooting 4 of 7 from the field and 3 for 5 from the line, and added seven rebounds. Devin Hines was 3 of 10 shooting (1 for 4 from 3-point range) to finish with seven points. The Leopards snapped a nine-game skid.
The Black Knights (4-10) were led by Josh Scovens, who posted 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks. TJ Small added 11 points, two steals and two blocks for Army. Ryan Curry also put up eight points.

These two teams both play Saturday. Lafayette visits Boston University and Army hosts Holy Cross.
