Gray and NJIT knock off Fordham 80-77
NEW YORK -- — Mekhi Gray led NJIT with 21 points and Kjell de Graaf secured the victory with a layup with two seconds left as the Highlanders knocked off Fordham 80-77 on Wednesday night.
Gray was 5 of 13 shooting, including 4 for 7 from 3-point range, and went 7 for 8 from the line for the Highlanders (2-6). Elijah Buchanan scored 18 points and added six rebounds. Adam Hess was 4 of 8 shooting (4 for 6 from 3-point range) to finish with 14 points.
Abdou Tsimbila led the Rams (4-5) in scoring, finishing with 18 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots. Fordham also got 13 points from Will Richardson and Joshua Rivera scored 11 points.
NJIT travels to face Wake Forest Saturday.
Fordham will play North Texas on Sunday in the NABC Brooklyn Showcase.
