DURHAM, N.H. -- Nick Guadarrama had a career-high 28 points plus 13 rebounds as New Hampshire edged past Holy Cross 87-83 on Saturday.

Guadarrama hit 11 of 14 shots and the Wildcats made 11 of 28 3-pointers.

Josh Hopkins had 15 points for New Hampshire (2-0). Mark Carbone added 13 points and Sean Sutherlin had 11 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Ryan Wade had 24 points for the Crusaders (0-2). Drew Lowder added 14 points and Joe Pridgen had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

New Hampshire plays St. John's on the road on Tuesday. Holy Cross faces Fairfield at home on Tuesday.
