Draine carries Southern Miss over Old Dominion 59-52

NORFOLK, Va. -- LaDavius Draine had 18 points as Southern Mississippi defeated Old Dominion 59-52 on Wednesday night.

Tyree Griffin had 16 points and eight assists for Southern Miss (18-11, 10-7 Conference USA). Cortez Edwards added 11 points. Leonard Harper-Baker had 6 points and 15 rebounds for the visiting team.

Justice Kithcart had 11 points for the Monarchs (23-7, 13-4), whose seven-game winning streak ended with the loss. Xavier Green added 11 points. Ahmad Caver had 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Golden Eagles evened the season series against the Monarchs with the win. Old Dominion defeated Southern Miss 76-62 on Jan. 19. Southern Miss finishes out the regular season against UTSA at home on Saturday. Old Dominion finishes out the regular season against UAB on the road on Saturday.
