The game-winner was set up when a diving JaQuori McLaughlin kept the ball from going out of bounds and it wound up in Heidegger's hands.

Ar'mond Davis had 12 points and six rebounds for UC Santa Barbara (20-9, 9-6 Big West Conference). Amadou Sow added 11 points.

Lamine Diane had 34 points and 13 rebounds for the Matadors (13-18, 7-8). Terrell Gomez added 21 points. Cameron Gottfried had six rebounds.

The Gauchos improve to 2-0 against the Matadors this season. UC Santa Barbara defeated Cal State Northridge 70-64 on Feb. 6.
