UTSA outruns Charlotte 13-5 in OT, wins 97-89
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jhivvan Jackson scored five of his 30 points in overtime to lead Texas-San Antonio to a 97-89 victory over Charlotte on Saturday night.
UTSA (15-12, 8-6 Conference USA) rebounded from a 38-point loss to Old Dominion that snapped a four-game win streak. Charlotte (5-20, 1-13) has lost 12 straight, including a two-point loss to UTEP on Thursday.
Jackson opened the extra period with a 3-pointer, and added jumper and a steal as the Roadrunners outscored the 49ers 13-5. Jackson also hit a jump shot with four seconds remaining in regulation to tie it at 84 and force overtime.
Jackson was 11-of-22 shooting and made four 3s. Keaton Wallace added 17 points, Byron Frohnen had 15 and Deon Lyle chipped in 11 for UTSA, which shot 36 of 59 overall (61 percent), including 13 made 3-pointers.
Andrien White scored 25 points to lead Charlotte. Jon Davis had 19 points and Luka Vasic added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
