Belmont makes program-record 20 3-pointers in 84-59 win
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Dylan Windler made six of Belmont's program-record 20 3-pointers in scoring 21 points with 14 rebounds as the Bruins beat Tennessee State 84-59 on Saturday in a regular-season finale.
The 20 3-pointers surpassed the previous Belmont high of 19 reached on Jan. 10, 2000 and Dec. 2, 2004.
The win left Belmont (23-6, 15-3) a half-game back of Ohio Valley Conference leader Murray State (15-2), which played at third-place Austin Peay (12-5) later Saturday night.
The Bruins were 20 of 38 from the arc for 53 percent with all five starters hitting multiple 3-pointers and scoring in double figures including Amanze Egekeze (four 3-pointers, 16 points), Tyler Hadden (four, 15), Kevin McClain (two, 12) and Austin Luke (three, 11).
Delano Spencer had three 3s of his own and scored 23 points for the Tigers (15-14, 10-8), which beat Belmont 64-56 on Feb. 8.
Belmont led by 15 at halftime and 30 midway through the second half.
