White, Nzekwesi help power Oral Roberts past FGCU, 83-64
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Javan White and Emmanuel Nzekwesi combined to score 49 points and grab 22 rebounds as Oral Roberts roared back from a week off to take exams to slam the book on Florida Gulf Coast, posting an 83-64 victory Saturday night.
The win gives Oral Roberts back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
White knocked down 11 of his 14 shots from the field to post 25 points and grabbed 11 boards to lead the Eagles (4-9). Nzekwesi was 9 of 13 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the line to add 24 points while grabbing 11 boards. Overall Oral Roberts shot 34 of 63 from the field (54 percent), including 4 of 14 from behind the 3-point line.
Florida Gulf Coast trailed by seven at intermission, but managed to score just 29 points after the break.
Brandon Goodwin scored 20 points off the bench for FGCU (7-5).
