Central Arkansas beats New Orleans 81-57
NEW ORLEANS -- Jordan Howard scored 24 points, Mathieu Kamba added 23 points with three steals, and Central Arkansas pulled away early from New Orleans to win 81-57 on Wednesday night.
Howard scored 10 amid a 12-2 run and Central Arkansas led 40-23 at halftime on Kamba's dunk. Howard had 14 points in the half and the Bears held New Orleans to 24.2 percent shooting from the floor.
Kamba scored five points during an 11-2 run and the Bears led 70-45 with 7:26 to play.
Unruh scored 12 points and Deandre Jones had a career-high five steals for Central Arkansas (10-10, 4-3 Southland), which shot 50 percent from the floor. Hayden Kovla blocked five shots.
Travin Thibodeaux scored 18 points for New Orleans (8-10, 5-2), which saw its six-game home winning streak end. The Privateers turned it over 17 times and made 21 field goals.
