MALIBU, Calif. -- Henry Caruso was 4 of 8 from 3-point range and scored 23 points with eight rebounds to help Santa Clara beat Pepperdine 73-59 on Saturday.
Caruso's jumper with 3:03 left in the game capped an 8-2 run at 71-51, which matched Santa Clara's largest lead of the game.
KJ Feagin added 18 points and Emmanuel Ndumanya had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Broncos (8-14, 5-5 West Coast Conference).
Santa Clara took control with a 16-4 run early in the second half to lead 53-35 on Kai Healy's layup. The Waves (4-18, 1-9) got no closer than 14 from there.
Kameron Edwards had 19 points and Trae Berhow added 15 for Pepperdine. The Waves have lost 12 of their last 13.
Santa Clara shot 59 percent from the field in the first half and led 35-28 at the break. The Broncos finished the game at 55 percent.
