George Mason rallies to beat Kent State 79-75
ESTERO, Fla. -- Otis Livingston's deep baseline 3-pointer with 22 seconds remaining lifted George Mason to a 79-75 victory over Kent State in a consolation-bracket game at the Gulf Coast Showcase on Tuesday.
Marquise Moore passed to Livingston alone in the left corner with the trey giving the Patriots (2-3) a 77-75 lead. Kent State's Jalen Avery then drove through a crowd only to have his layup hit the side of the rim with three seconds left. Moore made a pair of free throws for the final score.
Moore finished with 23 points, 14 rebounds and five assists. Livingston added 20 points, Jaire Grayer 14 and Justin Kier 10.
Jimmy Hall had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Golden Flashes (3-2). Deon Edwin also scored 20 points and Avery added 10.
The game was tight throughout with neither team ahead by more than six points and lead changing hands 18 times.
