UC Davis downs Holy Names 89-75 behind Moneke
DAVIS, Calif. -- Chima Moneke scored 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting and UC Davis pulled away early from Holy Names to win 89-75 in Thursday night's home opener.
Lawrence White and Darius Graham scored 15 points apiece and Garrison Goode grabbed 12 rebounds for the Aggies (3-1), who shot 52 percent (31 of 60) from the floor and made 20 of 31 free throws (65 percent).
Siler Schneider, Mikey Henn and Darius Graham each hit 3s amid a 15-8 run and the Aggies led 42-27 at halftime. Graham scored 11 points in the first half.
The Hawks made 8 of 13 3-pointers in the second half (62 percent) but trailed by double digits the rest of the way.
Jewels Sanders and Jake Higgins scored 15 points each for the Division II Hawks (1-2), who counted it as an exhibition game.
