Corbett hits 5 3-pointers in Blue Hens' win over Hornets
NEWARK, Del. -- Chivarsky Corbett made a career-high five 3 pointers and scored 16 points in leading Delaware to a 64-49 victory over Delaware State on Friday night.
Corbett was 5 of 8 from the arc. Anthony Mosley added 13 points and Eric Carter grabbed 10 rebounds to go with seven points. The Blue Hens (5-3) had a 46-26 rebounding edge, including 15-4 on the offensive boards.
DeAndre Haywood scored 15 points and DeVaughn Mallory 10 for the Hornets (2-6), who made just one 3-pointer on 15 attempts.
Delaware leads the series between the state's only two Division-I basketball programs 13-4.
The Blue Hens led 31-28 at halftime after the Hornets went 0 for 10 from the arc.
A 3-point play by Haywood gave the Hornets a 39-36 lead early in the second half before the Blue Hens responded with a 10-0 run on their way to outscoring Delaware State 28-10 over the final 14 minutes.
