BOSTON -- Justin Alston had 14 points and nine rebounds, Eric Fanning added 11 and eight, and Boston University beat Lehigh 75-61 on Monday.

BU held the Patriot League preseason favorites to just 34.9 percent shooting from the floor.

Lehigh got within 68-59 with 3:47 left after 3-pointers by Austin Price and Brandon Alston on consecutive possessions. The Mountain Hawks went cold and Justin Alston scored the next four to start a 7-2 run to close it.

Tyler Scanlon and Max Mahoney each scored 10 points for BU (7-7, 2-0), which made 9 of 26 from distance -- with makes from six different players. The Terriers are 2-0 in league play for the third time in four seasons.

BU led 39-28 at halftime and opened the second half on a 13-6 spurt for an 18-point lead.

Tim Kempton and Kahron Ross scored 16 points apiece for Lehigh (7-6, 1-1). Kempton also had eight rebounds and Ross made three of the Mountain Hawks' eight 3s.
