Cook's 24 leads hot-shooting Princeton past Cal Poly, 81-52
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Steven Cook knocked down 6 3-pointers to score 24 points and Princeton shot better than 56 percent from the field to close out its non-conference schedule with an 81-52 victory over Cal Poly Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers were 31 of 55 shots from the field (56.4 percent) and hit 13 of 23 shots (56.5 percent) from behind the arc.
Princeton had 18 players see action in the game.
Cook hit 6 of 9 shots from deep and was 8 of 11 overall. Sophomore Devin Cannady had 10 points and became the fastest Princeton player to score 500 career points since Douglas Davis in 2012.
Ridge Shipley was one three players scoring eight points to pace Cal Poly, which shot 36.4 percent from the field (20 of 55).
Princeton (7-6) opens Ivy League play Saturday when it plays host to Penn. Cal Poly (5-9) opens Big West play Saturday at UC Davis.
