Taylor hitting treys, leads Fresno State over Cal Poly 73-59
FRESNO, Calif. -- Jahmel Taylor drilled all five of his 3-point attempts for 17 points as Fresno State pulled away in the second half to beat Cal Poly 73-59 on Saturday night.
Taylor, who is 9 for 9 from beyond the arc in the last two games, finished 6 of 6 from the floor. Paul Watson hit 3 of 6 from long range for 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Terrell Carter II added 10 points and nine rebounds. Jaron Hopkins chipped in 10 points and dished out eight assists for Fresno State (6-3), which has won four of its last five games.
The Bulldogs nailed 10 of 19 from beyond the arc and made 30 of 51 (58.8 percent) from the floor. Cal Poly was held to 19-of-51 shooting.
Fresno State led 30-23 at the break and was up 62-42 with 6:31 left.
Donovan Fields led Cal Poly with 17 points.
