SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Phillip Whittington scored a career-high 25 points on 12-of-14 shooting, Michael Buchanan had a double-double and South Carolina Upstate rolled to a 91-59 win over Florida College on Tuesday night.

Buchanan had 19 points and 13 rebounds, Malik Moore had 16 points and Mike Cunningham 10 for the Spartans (8-7), who took control with a 20-2 run in the first half. Whittington, who was one point shy of his career-best, and Buchanan had 13 points apiece in the first half when Upstate opened a 39-25 lead.

Zach Brock had 15 of his of his 18 points in the second half for the Falcons, a USCAA school. Anthony Allen added 13 points.

The Spartans had a 48-14 advantage on points in the paint and 20-2 on second chance points, built with 16 offensive rebounds and a 44-28 rebounding advantage.
