Fort Wayne prevails over Nebraska Omaha 108-101 in OT
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Mo Evans and Bryson Scott scored 25 points apiece as Fort Wayne prevailed over Nebraska Omaha 108-101 in overtime Saturday night.
John Konchar added 20 points and 16 boards for the Mastodons (17-9, 6-6 Summit). Brent Calhoun had 17 points and 11 boards and Karson Harrell had 11 points.
DeAngelo Stewart sank a 3-pointer to cap a 10-2 surge to start the overtime period and the Mastodons led 102-94 with 2:04 remaining. Evans sank four free throws in the stretch to seal it.
Fort Wayne led 50-39 at the break but Omaha battled back to take a 76-67 lead with 8:23 to play. An Evans layup put the Mastodons back up 92-90 with 1:14 to play in regulation but then Omaha's Zach Jackson snatched an offensive rebound and made the layup, tying the game at 92 with 18 seconds left.
Tre'Shawn Thurman led the Mavericks (13-13, 6-7) with 24 points and 14 rebounds.
